What role does B-12 Play in Vitamin Injection Therapy?

Component of nutrient injection.

As part of a Vitamin Injection Therapy, Vitamin B12 is often included as an injection, drip, or part of a cocktail of ingredients. B12 is most often used to treat pernicious anemia and other disorders where the body is not able to produce or store the vitamin on its own, and B12 is important in muscle and nerve health. A lack of B12 can result in numbness, mental issues, and a host of other problems. The average person, however, will get B12 from proper nutrition or the use of a multivitamin. While it has become popular to inject B12 and other nutrients, it is not for everyone and the excessive use of IV drips can lead to collapsed veins and swelling.

Notes and Special Information

Special note: Your body stores B-12 for several years, so as long as you are not suffering from a deficiency, then you may not need tons of extra B12.
